Whitney Melancon
Whitney is in the process of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor and is doing her practicum and internship with Marietta West Cobb Counseling Center. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from The University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. She is currently working on her Master of Arts in Counseling: Clinical Mental Health degree at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
She utilizes a holistic approach to counseling to meet her clients where they are including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which incorporates a goal-oriented approach and Humanistic Therapy which focuses on an individual’s positive traits and behaviors to achieve growth and healing.
Prior to pursuing a career in Counseling, Whitney worked in Marketing in the entertainment, tech and non-profit sectors. While she enjoyed her career in marketing, she recognized a deeper desire to help others and a passion for mental health and counseling.
