As a Marriage and Family therapist Yashman views her clients through a systemic lens, taking into consideration the person's whole system including; couple/family dynamics, generational family history and patterns, cultural and social status/factors and other environmental factors in a client’s life. Yashman utilizes Family systems approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion-focused therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and play-therapy interventions when appropriate, often taking an integrated approach that best matches the person/family/couples needs.

Yashman notes that through her years of experience "I have learned and grown to understand my fellow humankind; what drives certain behaviors, thinking and how to develop ways to make cognitive and systematic changes to help shape, grow and adjust to the ever changing dynamics, stressors and transitions in this crazy game of life."  She aims to help individuals discover and nurture, what she likes to call, their "Best Me." In helping a person become their Best Me she takes a holistic/ person centered approach, creating a non-judgmental and safe space, meeting the person where they are at in their process, and strengthening self-awareness, management and communication to help individuals, couples and families achieve their desired goals/change.

Yashman is passionate about helping LGBTQ+ individuals and couples work through both internal and external factors that cause distress, social injustices, relational issues, and supporting and empowering the ability to live out loud and being true to themselves. She also has a passion around helping transitioning teens to young adults learn and gain tools to support a healthy development and transition into adulthood.
